About this listen

Hallie knows how to lose your best friend in one easy step.

Offer him your virginity, then watch him reject you.

But that was four years ago, and now she knows better. Working at Hunt’s Bull Riding School, there’s no shortage of hot young cowboys to keep her entertained. There’s no need to think about Nate Mathews, especially since he’s off on the pro bull riding tour.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Until Nate walks back into her life, four years older, four years hotter, and with four years of regrets behind the blue eyes she once fell in love with.

But on his first night back in their sleepy hometown, Nate’s plans to apologize are lost in the wail of sirens. In the devastating aftermath, Nate leans on the woman who once knew him better than anyone.

But this time, it’s more than friendship he wants from her. No amount of teenage history, bad-tempered bulls, or babies who hate his guts will stop him from getting his second chance.

This second chance, friends-to-lovers romance brings the steam against a backdrop of professional bull riding, rodeo, and small-town cowboys. This is a complete romance with a happily ever after.

Buck Cowboys is a short sweet and spicy cowboy romance and i really enjoyed Hallie and Nate’s relationship!! Nate was THE perfect mmc, he was hot, sexy, charming and definitely had a mouth on him, and Hallie my gosh i loved her, she held her ground and made him grovel.
the first few chapters genuinely had me so suprised with the whole car accident, it was a good read and i enjoyed it, im intruiged in summer and dominics story in the next book. I also listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Stella Hunter and JF Harding!! it was perfect and done in duet style which i loved

Great story line. Easy listening. Short, sweet and totally hooked me into the series. I really enjoyed it. More spice than I expected for a short book, so it was great!

Quick and catchy

Elle Thorpe is one of my favourite authors, so I’ve been putting off starting this series while I completely submerged myself in the whole Saint View world (which I adore, if you haven’t listened to those, where have you been, go look them up).

This one was written I think before the whole Saint View world, and you can feel that shift straight away. It’s not RH, and the whole vibe is much softer than her later, darker work. The book is short and really feels like an introduction to the series, cowboys, rodeo, and a plot that keeps moving even if it didn’t fully hook me the way her grittier worlds do. Still enjoyable, just a different flavour of Elle.

The spice level is definitely toned down compared to Saint View, but the narration is great as always. Elle tends to use duet style, which I love, and Stella Hunter and JF Harding delivered exactly what I expect from an Elle Thorpe audiobook.

Overall, a softer start but enough there to keep me keen to continue the series and see where it goes next.
