Publisher's Summary

Meet the men of Manning Grove, three small-town cops and brothers, who meet the women who will change the rest of their lives. This is Matt’s story....

As a former Marine, Matt Bryson has dealt with PTSD ever since coming home from the Middle East. He finds himself fortunate to be able to return to his job as a cop at the local police department with his brothers Max and Marc.

Dr. Carly Stephens works hard as an obstetrician at the local hospital, struggling to pay off her medical school loans, financially support her elderly parents, and save money to adopt a baby. Unable to have children, she still longs for one of her very own.

Instantly attracted to the "dictator doctor," Matt finds Carly easily brings him to his knees both emotionally and physically. What starts out only as a convenient sexual relationship turns into a whole lot more when dealing with their pasts and their future. Especially since Matt doesn’t ever want children.

Matt and Carly find themselves on a passionate and emotional journey that can either bring them together or rip them apart.

Note: This book can be read as a stand-alone and has an HEA ending.

Trigger warning: This audiobook includes a main character dealing with PTSD.

Loved this story, so touching

Brothers in Blue Matt is the most touching story of the three brothers. It brings out issues that really need to be recognized more. Jeanne St. James did an amazing job in not only expressing the feelings of this brave man with PTSD, but on how he himself found help, acceptance, unconditional love and understanding. Then we have the woman that he feel madly in love with, that excepted him, his issues while being selfless to her own problems and desires. I hope in the future that Ms St. James blesses us with how not only Matt and Carly are doing, but also the recent marriage of Mark and Leah, plus she touched on a new relationship Teddy and Adam need details. In closing I have to mention that Eva Lucas and Jason Clarke blew me away with the narration. I am reviewing this audible book for a fair and honest review. Thank you Jeanne St. James

Two Snaps and a Clap!!!

Matt is a brother I wanted to see get his HEA the most, you see I have a soft spot for the Military men who come back and are a little damaged. I just learned this about myself. I can’t help but feel the emotions and want them to find that special someone that can help them or help them see that they need help. Matt is so tortured by his former life as a Marine but not because of something more so because he couldn’t keep helping without really losing himself. You can only witness so much before you yourself breaks. His story is unique and different and I loved the little twist he and the Doc have it really helps you to understand just want Matt needs. But also what the Doc needs. I loved this book, buttttt the BONUS “novella” EPIC!! I am in love and listened to it twice because HELLO LOVE IS LOVE BABY!! I hope and pray Jeanne St. James does more MM and MMF because I adore those stories as much as I adore her regular MF books. The narration….you already know I am going to tell you Ava Lucas’ voice gives me the good kind of shivers. ;) **Shhh don’t tell her!!** Jason Clarke lordy be that man’s voice is delicious I can listen to these two forever and ever!

WOW!

I had not read Matt's book yet so listening it to it first was amazing! I know Ava Lucas and Jason Clarke are fantastic narrators but I think this was my favorite. Maybe because I didn't know the story already? I'm not sure but I certainly felt all the emotions. Jason and Ava both did a fabulous job portraying Matt and all of the torment he was going through, as well as the emotions that Carly was dealing with about her infertility. Matt and Carly were amazing together and I certainly teared up a few times. Another fan-freaking-tastic book by this amazing author.

Love this book

All three books from the Brothers in Blue series are great. I have loved reading and listening to the brothers stories. Matt just might be my favorite. Matt's story deals with PTSD which is an important topic that we need to talk about more and more. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with PTSD. I enjoyed listening to Matt and Carly's story.. You will not be disappointed in any of these brothers...

Sexy

This is the story pf Matt and Carly. He is a damaged marine and she is an ob doctor. He offers her a helping hand after she is involved in an accident. She moves into his house and the sparks fly! They both say it's only sex but with the Byrson men you can never be so sure. Matt suffers from bad PTSD so he is being careful about gettting to close. The usual characacters are all there. Jason Clark and Ava Lucas are the awesome narrators of this story and do a great job!

Emotional and my favourite

This was such an emotional roller coaster of a listen as Matt Bryson struggles with his PTSD and its impact on his civilian life back in Manning Grove as a member of the police force alongside his 2 brothers Max and Marc. There was so much pain and suffering within this story, not only Matt’s but the woman who brings him to his knees, Dr. Carly Stephens that it was palpable. I felt that the narrators did a great job in expressing the emotion, pain and suffering that both Matt, Carly and by extension his family go through. Honestly this book brought out so many more emotions than the previous two books. My heart just about broke for both Matt and Carly, but particularly Matt at times as he struggled to face his demons. The love and support that Carly showed Matt was heartwarming and inspirational. The relationship that Matt has with his whole family is great , even though he does his best to keep them at a distance. The chemistry between Matt and Carly was off the charts hot as they fought through his issues to define their relationship. Can Carly prove to Matt that their love is worth taking a risk or is Matt destined to be alone?

Brothers in Blue: Matt

Matt and Carly’s story is the third book of the series set in Manning Grove. Matt is back home from multiple tours in the military. Matt has joined the police force with his brothers Max and Marc. Carly is a doctor that Matt finds himself drawn to. Matt is closed off from his family and he is struggling to survive in his daily life due to PTSD. Matt and Carly agree to a causal relationship, yet it does not take long before they are fighting their feelings for each other. This is an especially touching story because not only do we get to witness Matt and Carly’s relationship develop, we also see how broken and vulnerable Matt is and his fight to get better for himself and for Carly. A bonus with this book is that we also get "Teddy: A Brothers in Blue" Novelette. Getting a more personal glimpse into Teddy’s life was a joyful experience.

Jeanne St James you are killing me!! the first chapter had me laughing so hard I had tears running down my face (I was in a coffee shop at the time!). later you had me in tears for so many other reasons than joy. Beautifully written and about such a heart wrenching subject!! This one totally shredded my heart but also put it back together with so much love, laughter and family devotion!!! I fell in love with Matt and Carly so quickly it was ridiculous!! I didn't think you could best the first 2 but you did it with with one. my favourite so far - not only does Matt get his story told but poor Teddy does to!!! I'm so going to miss the Brysons. the narration was perfection!

Matt ❤️

He is the younger of the Bryson brothers, back from too many tours and serving with his brothers. There is more angst in this one, Matt has PTSD and can't seem to find his way but he will have help. I enjoyed his sexy times, no holds barred. Teddy keeps cracking me up. And as a bonus we get a novella with his hea. Great series that have come to an end. I loved it and will miss it! Great narration and storytelling. 👍🏼

Matt. Enough Said!

I have listened to all three Brothers in Blue and have loved each one for different reasons. There is something really special about Matt and his story. While the story is full of passion, heat and spice, I loved it for the complexity of Matt. Matt has returned to civilian life after several tours as a marine. His experiences have scarred him, and as a result has given him low self esteem and a severe case of PTSD. Carly is the obstetrician who delivered Matt's niece and has caught his eye. Carly is a strong woman, has dealt with life's difficulties and is trying to get herself in a position so she can fulfill her dreams. Is Matt part of that dream? Jeanne St James again gives us a story of healing and love, with family and caring. The series is a tribute to our veterans and instills a sense of honor and gives us an awareness of how difficult their sacrifice is. I loved Matt and Carly and the entire Bryson family! Giving us the bonus of Teddy's story is just like the cherry on a sundae! What a hot and steamy treat! And Adam...what a man! Loved it! The continuity of narration by Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas really solidifies the story of this family. I love that when I turn on the book, the voices are consistent and have become the thread of the series. Clarke has a voice that flows with sensuality, and he gives Matt a little desperation with the seriousness of his problems. Carly needs a woman who is smart and understanding. She is domineering at times, and Lucas gives Carly all these qualities. With the complexity of these characters, the narration comes through with all the emotional pull that tugs at your heart and makes you root for the couple!
