About this listen
When Theodore Davenport decides to switch his mundane job for a career, he walks into Holden House Publishing with enthusiasm and determination to succeed. As he settles into his new role, makes new friends, and dreams of making it to the top, everything is going to plan. Until he meets James Holden, CEO of Holden House. James Holden hasn't been able to stop thinking about his encounter with the timid man he met in a club bathroom last week, and when he discovers the one haunting his dreams is an employee, he can't seem to stop himself from pursuing him. Just a little fun - that's what James tells himself. He can't afford to care for someone who can never reciprocate, not once they find out who he really is. James believes nobody deserves the burden of being attached to him. He's a complicated man. Damaged. Difficult. Demanding. Broken. Is Theodore strong enough to confront James' demons? More importantly, is James?
M/M romance. Not suitable for listeners under 18 years of age due to language and sexual content.
Please note: This book contains scenes of self-harm, mental illness, and suicidal ideation which may be uncomfortable for some listeners.

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Either the author did their research well or they too have personal knowledge of mental illness. Either way, it's extremely well done. I'm not a fan of the regular user of "1 month later"... "3 months later" device that authors use, but that's my only criticism here.
And for the narration, Joel Leslie with another brilliant performance. Yeah the accents may be a little clumsy, but I really appreciate his acting, he really makes the characters come to life, giving even the background characters personality.
An authentic portrayal

Would you consider the audio edition of Broken to be better than the print version?
This has been a standout book for me for a couple of years now. The audio was a great way to reconnect with this story.Any additional comments?
Not going to lie, Joel Leslie's accent did take me a while to get in to, but after a chapter I didn't even notice it.Loved the book. LOVE the audio

Brilliant narrator, fantastic voices, laugh-out loud moments, Bi-polar, deep emotions, secrets, fated couple, a really powerful subject, lots of feels, graphic suicide attempt scene that's not easy to read.
Theo 27 yrs starts a new job in a publishing house. On a night out with work colleagues Theo has a hot encounter in a bathroom he'll never forget.
James 26 yrs is the new manager of the house.. Lady Fate plays with her ball..lol
A 5 Stars Plus story

I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend highly , I will be looking for more of Ms Haken’s books, as for narration - Joel Leslie has been a favourite of mine for a long time , but this book? Omg he made me laugh, cry and slap my hand to my mouth in surprise and sadness ( you’ll know what I mean when you read it ) what a talented performer he is ! Thanks to both of you.
Blown away
