Publisher's Summary

Wall Street Journal best-selling author Nicole Snow returns with a screaming, funny romance where two office enemies fake love until they're all out of make-believe.

You know that awkward moment when your lava-hot boss says “marry me”?
Not for love. Not for real. Not without a mammoth payoff.
Of course, this fortune comes with a ginormous snag - Ward Brandt.

Call me bananas.
I must be short of a full bushel rejecting Chicago's finest billionaire.
Who knew he was my boss when he crashed my worst date ever?
Oh, but he found out.
He swore I wasn't fit for Brandt Ideas, chewed me up, and spat me back out.
I vowed I'd prove him wrong - and sabotage a metric ton of his coffee.

Then tragedy strikes, upending his limitless ego.
Guess who needs an image makeover to shore up the family business.
Big, fat hell no.
King Snarlypants has a peanut-sized heart and a chip on his shoulder bigger than a redwood.

Find another sucker, Ward-hole.
Even if I agreed, my shields are up.
No magnetic kisses. Zero butterflies. Nix the blushing when everyone gushes over what a “perfect couple” we'd be.
Then again...it's just 90 days, and mama needs a windfall.
What's one little white wedding lie with a bossy grump built like a god?

Full-length enemies-to-lovers romance loaded with banter, drama, and so much slow-burn heat you'll want that happily-ever-after shaken over ice. A storm cloud of a man stuffed into a suit strikes a deal with the girl whose smart mouth drives him to the ultimate madness called love.

Horrible

I couldn’t make it through even two hours of this book and I really tried. It was ssssooooo slow, with almost no character development. I listen to at least 3 books, sometimes 4, each month and this was the first one that I’ve never made it all the way through. Even the ones I thought were bad, I made myself finish them, thinking that some redeeming quality would make it worth my time. I just couldn’t waste another second on this one. Narration was ok, but not enough to make me want to complete the whole thing.

Good

Nicole Snow does it again. Storyline did drag in spots but still a great read. Narrator Carly Robins is fantastic as ever, but can’t say the same for Rock Engle. His voice for his part was ok but trying to talk for others was horrible.

Good story and narration

Following the prior book, this was often amusing, especially with fun banter between Ward, a partner at an architectural firm, and Paige, a free spirit and executive assistant. They have a bad first impression, with Ward saving Paige from a bad date and assuming she's a drunk (she got a little tipsy off one glass of wine). He tried to get her fired but his Grandmother and brother, another partner, stepped in and stopped him. This all happened within the first few chapters.

The rest of the book was meant to highlight Paige's competence, Ward's grumpiness, and how their fake engagement could bring their firm into the next level. Throw in some really mean parents, past hurts that need to be healed, and fun supportive cast and I overall enjoyed this book. I wasn't sold on Ward but I liked that Paige gave as good as she got. And, it was fun to see all the references to this author's other series. As someone who has read all of them, this continuity was a fun experience.

I bought the audiobook (love whispersync) and listened, primarily, to this story. The narration was good. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Rock Engle's narration- his voice kind of makes me think about him as someone who would be awesome narrating a children's book. He also has a really high and old female voice. It's difficult to describe. Carly Robbins was good overall and played multiple characters overall pretty well.

Wonderful Escape

Nicole Snow never fails to hit it out of the park, but this story of Paige and the "Warden," well, this is what romance is all about. It wasn't just enough that I fell in love with the grumpy alpha bosshole everyone called the Warden. It wasn't even enough that I fell in love with the spitfire Paige, who gave as good as she got, standing her ground and knowing how to pick her battles. Well... mostly.

It was made even better when the ancillary characters sucked me in because they were so deftly created they seemed like the main characters themselves. The humor, the heart, the strength, the feistiness to shake their fists at the world--all of it captured me, and held me captive.

As a fan of the author, I've read virtually every book she's written. I'm also a lover of audiobooks, so now that she's putting those out for her fans, I decided to go with the audio. I'm not sure if I didn't mess myself up by listening to a book I had previously read, because some of the voicings were just a bit odd to me. Especially Ward's. He just didn't have that luscious alpha male super-testosterony timbre I expect. Paige's renderings came off as whiney and flighty sometimes--two things she is not. While I wasn't completely stoked with the narration, it was still awesome to have this delicious story in my ears. More! I definitely want more!

Loved , but the male’s voice not so much.

Read the book and had to buy the audiobook. Only weird thing was; the male reading the book. His voice I swear sounded like Casey Kasem! Which was a total turn off. There was no way to get into this male being sexy with this voice. He sounded old to. Not a young male. Would of been better with a different male voice. Loved the female narrator.

GET THIS!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVED THIS! I think I loved this more than Office Grump, but not by a landslide. This had me chuckling and snickering a lot because of the well written snark and sass. It's hot, so h🔥t, steamy, makes you want to facepalm and I always enjoy when there are cameo characters (Office Grump and Enguard Protectors series). Also, Rock Engle has the most endearing grandma voice 🥰 imo.

Witty faux-engagement story

Cute story that will have you snickering. Paige is about to start her dream job working for a renowned architect. Unfortunately, one of the partners is trying to fire her after a run-in at an art gallery. Ward is a huge stick-in-the-mud and can’t believe that his grandmother is keeping the new EA…but when backed into a corner and a fake engagement is the solution, Ward and Paige agree. Queue the fireworks! Great summer beach read.
