Publisher's Summary

Just when Dan and Holly think things can't get any stranger, a terrifying new presence arrives in their community. Faces smudged with ash. Bodies decorated with mysterious symbols. Crude hides for clothing. Weird rituals conducted in the dark of night.

For the small group of refugees in the Idaho mountains, it's beginning to seem like every step forward just gives the world one more opportunity to blindside them.

Things had started to look good for Dan and Holly. They had solar power and more food than they could eat in a decade. They had friends, and they had each other. They'd also finalized some tough decisions that had been hanging over them, so now they had a plan.

Then the weirdos crept into town like fog moving on the breeze. They looked like something that had walked out of a Neanderthal display at a museum. It might have been entertaining if not for the air of primal and unearthly menace that the visitors brought with them. Hiding was futile, and threats didn't deter them because both groups were after the same thing.

But with resources too precious to share, only one party can prevail.

Down on Dan

This book is a let down in this series. The main character is different from books 1 and 2. Tripping on shrooms and devil worshiping. Save your money.

Another great book!

Franklin Horton did not disappoint. Once I started Boondocks Pilgrims I could not walk away. I was hooked throughout wondering what was next for Dan and his crew.

Excellent!

Excellent story, excellent narration, and excellent production. Horton always delivers an exciting story and Pierce is the master narrator. Can’t get any better than this combination.

Horton jumps a shark

In 1977, the Fonz donned water skis and proceeded to jump the shark, a phrase that has become an idiom that fairly accurately applies to Boondock Pilgrims. The author created an absurd machination then doubled down with an even more ridiculous cult. I was really disappointed by these choices because I expected more based on the quality of his other works (which I thoroughly enjoyed).

Great story

As usual this has been a great story with characters that you see. Particularly interested in Kyles house/bunker.

Worth the wait

As always, another great book by Franklin Horton. One of my favorite authors ever. And this has become a great series.
