Beim Durchsehen der Post entdecken Mausino und Bombo, die beiden Mäusepolizisten, neben einigen Werbesendungen einen Brief vom Burgherrn Tibor von Schreckenfells. Er bittet die Mäusepolizei um Hilfe, in Sache einer ungewöhnlichen Geisterplage auf dem Schloss zu ermitteln. Und so wird Bombo beauftragt, Schreckenfells zu begutachten. Durch eine List findet er bald heraus, dass es sich bei den Geistern um die bösen Ratten Zakarax und Razztazz handelt. Doch was genau führen die beiden vermeintlichen Geister da im Schilde? Was wollen sie von Graf Tibor und seinem Schloss?
