Publisher's Summary

You could be projecting a wrong image of yourself by not using your body language properly.

Nonverbal communication is a huge part of any communication process. The good news is, nonverbal language is like any other language, can be taught.

This book will transform the way you act and react with your body and improve your confidence.

You’ve probably heard many times someone being described as charismatic. While some people truly are naturally charismatic, the idea that you have to be born with it couldn’t be further from the truth. Charisma is a personality trait, and it can be mastered through different techniques that involve using body language.

When you read this book you’ll be able to:

  • Use body language to improve your confidence and upgrade your personality
  • Control your emotional and physical reactions
  • Read another’s nonverbal signs and interpret them
  • Recognize when someone’s lying to you
  • Master different ways to attract and command attention with your body language

Don’t make a mistake believing that words you say are the only thing that matters to people around you. Humans are by nature visual beings, meaning we tend to judge on appearance, whether consciously or unconsciously. Speaking is a big part of a communication process, but not the only one.

Reach your full potential, project the right image of yourself, gain confidence and advance in your career by mastering your body language.

Happy

I am glad to have listened to this Audible. This is a great book! It has a lot of interesting info, presented in an interesting way. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone! The truth is, I am very happy that I have purchased this book. This is a very learnable book. Found a lot of good tips that I can easily use. Learned the skill of analyzing people’s body language to understand them better. This book is useful and helpful to understand body language and nonverbal communication, and how that knowledge can be used to improve relationships and get ahead in life.

Excellent material

An excellent material and is so easy to understand. I highly recommend the author’s way of identifying what people do to get away with in life. All the years of experience he has in the field and in the office setting makes him a professional in his own right. Analyzing body language can be a hard thing to learn and employ. I can attest to that. I wasn’t particularly good at guessing how others feel or reading their body language response. While I am still socially scared to talk with a lot of people I don't know, this book did provide insight into what certain gestures mean and what I could be portraying to people without even knowing it.

Covers necessary ground

It was only now that I realized that effective communication is achieved more with body language than the spoken word. I took a college course on reading body language, and this excellent book covered the same ground. It's not what you say, but it's how you say it that counts most. Author conveys a broad knowledge of the subject. Additionally, a gifted writer who writes clearly and in depth. Book is well organized into meaningful snippets easily absorbed.

Has dramatic impact.

The impact this book has had a dramatic impact on the way I view human interactions. Before reading this book, I scarcely understood body language and non-verbal communication; now, thanks to this brilliant work by Gerard Shaw, I understand why some people seem more confident than others when they speak, how adopting different techniques can allow one to become more persuasive when speaking, what to look for when attempting to detect deception, etc. Simply improve your non-verbal intelligence, this book will surely help you do all of that and more.

Effective communication and listening skills

This is an interesting book on how to effectively communicate and actively listen to others, not just what they have to say through spoken words but what they intend to mean which can be seen through their body language. It was an easy concept to grasp. I didn’t realize how important nonverbal language is until this book, so it’s quite enlightening in that sense. It is also interesting that this audiobook also shows you how to be objective and less judgemental in reading people’s body language and how to be more understanding of other people overall. The author has plenty of experience in coaching and it shows in his Audible. A must listen to help with effective communication.

Elegantly composed

This one is a very informative audiobook. It can help us to analyze people. This is really well researched and well presented. If you want to know how to read people then you must listen to this one. It is elegantly composed and straightforward. I enjoyed this guide and would prescribe it to any one. Though sometimes you may have to take quick notes and be in a place conducive for learning to remember all the good stuff you can learn from this audiobook.

Author knows his stuff.

Very enlightening listen. I'm still quoting from this audible, even though it's been a while that I listened to it. You can tell the author knows his stuff. It could've been a dry, theoretical book, but instead, it was entertaining and fascinating. You won’t get any benefit from books you are too bored to listen to, more so read. This one’s an exception in my opinion.

Body language dynamics

It covered all aspects of body language and each of their meaning. It helped develop body language and dynamics enabling one to go out and apply the knowledge. I really liked the way the author broke down the elements and illuminated the supportive data of each topic area! Book is hard to put down as he applies each topic into scenarios because it certainly relates you to them and makes you think and become more self aware of your own body language!

You only need this one book.

Very good for someone who doesn't pick up on social cues very well. Author goes into detail about context and not just how to use non verbal language but the situation you are in, what is said and much more. I've read a couple of books on this subject and I really should have just read this one! The thing about body language is, we naturally know more than we realize and some of what he says, and all books say, is obvious. This book just gives you a more thorough knowledge.

elpful insights regarding human interaction

This audiobook is a quick listen with many helpful insights regarding human interaction...a resource to review again and again.Very informative! This audio helps me to better understand other people’s body language. It will also make us more aware of the body language we present to others. I read many books on the topic, but this one provided some new information I haven't heard before in the others and reinforced the ones I already read about in the past. Highly recommended!

Entertaining, informative and inspiring

Another entertaining, informative, and very inspiring audio from Gerard Shaw. This author never fails to deliver. The ability to analyze body language and see past the lies, manipulation, and deception that is taking place is how you protect yourself from being taken advantage of and it is how you pick up on the signals that no one else does and if you want to know about these things properly, then I think this book will be best for you and I’m very glad to purchase and listen to this book. There is a whole world of information that is waiting to be discovered if only more people knew how to use body language to their communicative advantages . There are some forms of body language which are easily identifiable and this book can be pivotal in helping you comprehend your very own feelings just as the feelings of everyone around you.

Gives clear understanding on the topic

This book has very interesting topics in it that relate to body language and effective ways to communicate using it. If you think you know everything to know about body language, there’s a lot more to learn and this book has the next level of understanding of body language through analyzing and reading other people’s body language. I find this super interesting and really adds up to a clear understanding of how to use the mastery of body language to facilitate good connection with other people. The next chapters take you to an even higher level of understanding of the uses of body language in developing a winning personality. Also, it tackles the topic on using body language to exude charisma and confidence during public speaking and presentations. And lastly, topics include how to use body language to make meaningful connections and how to practice mastering the science of body language everyday. I would definitely recommend this book where science meets practical use.

Rich info

Let me start by saying that this book provided rich information on the science of body language. In the first chapter, this book revealed a well-researched and well-explained actual science of the language expressed through our body movements. It tackled essential topics on the neuroscience of body language. There is a section explaining how the brain controls body movements and how the systems involved affect our body language. So, when we’re afraid, anxious, happy, excited, and whatever state of thinking we are in, the brain sends signals to our body to reflect that voluntarily and involuntarily. The next sections put all these science into practical use as it prepares readers to understand the essentials of learning body language and reprogramming your body language to reflect a more confident individual. The first chapter starts right away in giving a quick guide on the body parts we should be aware and conscious about.

Just insightful! It’s a good one.

A good introduction to the study of body language. This audiobook has helped me identify when a friend or customer is feeling nervous, or hiding something. It also helps me better understand the subtle messages my partner is sending me through body language. As a result, our communication feels more natural and seamless. Effective communication is achieved more with body language than the spoken word. This book is a quick read with many helpful insights regarding human interaction.

A good self-help audiobook

I’m an avid fan of self-help books and I'm always looking for ways to learn and improve myself. So I'm glad I found this book. However, I’ve been out of touch lately and couldn’t bring myself to reading. I’m just equally glad that this book has an audiobook version. It’s not much effort to digest the rich content over a weekend. Especially these days, I think we have more time in our hands to either waste or use wisely. A few short hours spent listening to a good book that is not only good for your mind, but also good for you to see yourself differently. This audiobook helped me to reassess myself and fine tune my authenticity and self-image. Glad that Bold Body Language is jam packed with fascinating, amazing, and interesting facts that will help you enhance your social skills, confidence, and helps you in areas you need to improve to achieve life goals.

Didn’t expect much. But found out very helpful

I started listening to this audiobook, I could not put the audiobook down. It helped a lot which I didn't expect. However, everyone will be benefited more or less. I guarantee you. I like skipping to the most interesting parts though. It has a lot of content and information that you can try doing right that instant. Often, I would find myself in a situation where I remember a situation or scenario presented in this book and I had to go back to listen again just to verify my understanding and that’s pretty easy. I did not only enjoy listening to it, but also enjoyed using what I learned.

Body awareness guide

This book has opened my eyes to be more aware of body language. I believe a lot of times we are on autopilot in life. And we miss a lot of information. As well as believe that you learn the most from talking and listening in life. This author opens your eyes to a whole other world of learning and that's through non verbal communication.

Excellent way to get to know a person

Body language is an excellent way to get to know a person properly. I always follow body movements and I have found this helps to understand a person in a much deeper way than the verbal words. The author has provided detailed understanding of body language and how an exact movement tells something that is worth noticing. He shows you some good techniques on how to easily adopt this knowledge to your everyday conversations and social interactions.

Fascinating facts. I learned a lot

This audio-book really helped me understand social cues! This audio-book is really different from others. Gerard Shaw shows how to interpret the body language very well, which of course is the purpose of the book, this book shows the listener how to use the book to get the best out of it. I used to think the face was the best place to find emotions but this book made me realize that it might not always be the case, it goes into details about what each movement of the body parts mean, even the feet.
