Publisher's Summary

Like most people who own their own business, I work long hours that start early in the morning. So when someone calls me in the middle of the night, they'd better be dying....

Mechanic Mercy Thompson is woken at 3:00 a.m. by a vampire calling in a favour. He has to deliver a message to a fellow undead and needs a witness who won't be noticed - and Mercy's shapeshifting abilities make her the perfect candidate.

But the assignment turns into a bloodbath, and Mercy attracts the attention of not just a powerful vampire but the even more powerful demon possessing him. She can count on the supernatural community for protection - and alpha werewolf Adam would like her to rely on him in other ways too - but when it comes to being proactive, she's on her own.

"Plenty of twists and turns.... Kept me entertained from its deceptively innocent beginning to its can't -put-it-down end." (Kim Harrison, best-selling author of Dead Witch Walking)

***Have Mercy***

This series is the bomb, it doesn't have much frills or explosion but what it does have is grit and contents. It has passion, intensity and brilliance. Mercy Thompson is addictive she doesn't have much kick ass power or magic but she is strong, fair and compassionate character. Lorelei King is brilliant as always thanks.

audio skips

there are multiple sections where the audio skips and segments of the story are missing. one of them is a largish/important segment too which is really frustrating.

Beware Mercy has teeth, and she will use them

This is without a doubt one of my favourite series I have ever read (repeatedly). The Mercyverse which will have you binge listening/reading all her books. This particular story gives you a closer look into the vampire side of the Mercyverse, letting you get more backstory on Stefan and also a buildup to the strengths/abilities that our Mercy has and everyone underestimates. The narration is great, really portrays the characters and more importantly is consistant throughout the series (so far) so no need to worry that'll you get used to one voice in one book only to have to get used to another in the following. Overall, definitely a book you'll keep re-reading/listening to for many years to come.

Brilliant

Really pleased to be able to purchase these on Audible UK site . I read the series a while ago but now plan to listen to them all too . Lorelie is one of the best narrators in the business and always adds so much to every book she narrates .
Well worth the credit . In fact I have just treated myself to 3 extra credits as I cannot wait to hear the whole series .
I enjoyed reading these books as Patricia Briggs writes an entertaining tale . Lorelie just improves them! It's nice to see The way the romance develops between Mercy and Adam .

I am really enjoying this series

What made the experience of listening to Blood Bound the most enjoyable?

The whole package!
The story is quite gripping as Mercy works her way through a series of perilous situations. The narration is perfect, and the characters believable - which is a bit hard to grasp when they are generally werewolves vampires and a shifter

What other book might you compare Blood Bound to, and why?

Obviously its similar to the first in this series Moon Called - which I would recommend reading first as it sets the scene - Blood Called is even better though. Its good to compare this series with the Sookie Stackhouse (Charlaine Harris) and Jane Yellowrock (Faith Hunter) series and so far this series is at least as good as both those

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Hard to say too much without giving spoilers but the scene where Mercy is attacked by the baddie when alone in her home at night is genuinely scary

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

A few bits made me laugh - its not a tear jerker book by any means though - just an entertaining page turning romp.

Any additional comments?

Just about to download the next book in the series, I cant wait to find out what happens to our heroine next.

Good follow up..

I thought this was a good follow up to the first book, you get to know the characters better - such as Mercy, Adam and Samuel. I really like the first person writing style when you get into Mercy's head and hear what she secretly thinks etc. I'll continue reading this series because of her, she's a cool character. I'm hoping the storyline will get better as the series goes on because this felt like a repeat of the previous plot with some small changes and never added anything new to the overall storyline.

Goor reader, good story

I enjoyed this second outing for Mercy Thompson. Lorelei King is an excellent reader with good vocal characterisation. Despite this I did find myself losing track of who was who among the minor characters, which was distracting. But this might have been due to my state of mind at the time of listening. The main characters, Mercy (coyote shapeshifter), Stefan (vampire), Adam and Samuel (werewolves), are well drawn and engage your attention and interest. Werewolf culture has been given a lot of thought, much more so than the vampires who, with the notable exception of Stefan, are very traditionally drawn as uniformly evil. Definitely worth a listen.

Blood Bound

This second book continues the crazy life Murcy has, the interactions are brilliant with the other characters. This funny book has tension, frustration and fear and the ballance is pulled off with great hummer. I have listened to this book over and over and the tension is always there. Lorelei King really brings this book to life.

Entertaining story - bit much romance

I enjoyed this book. It is nice to hear a story featuring a woman in this genre. Decent story, good characters, just a bit too much romance.
