About this listen

Fall in love with Vermont in this USA Today best-selling series.

The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago, they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.

At 27, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings, and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.

Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.

They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

Warning: This stand-alone novel contains growly alpha farmers, gourmet yumminess, a steamy outdoor shower, and proof that farmers don't mind getting dirty.

Wow, I loved this story and the strength in Griff. And the integrity in Audrey was just a breath of fresh air. Meeting all the new characters in family and non. A great wholesome read.
Narration was awesome too.

Nice .. Story has nice twists and turns to it .
I loved the quirky nature and sarcasm of Audrey.
Laugh out loud moments.
Bring a farmer myself it was nice to here a stoty about other farmers and the stresses that are associated.
The female narator was excellent, lovely tone and inflections. The male narator was ok, in parts he was good but in other you could tell he was reading and not totally into the part.

contemporary story .. new author to me ..
definitely recommend.

The True North series is one I've always wanted to binge via the audios. I've been meaning to do it for so long, so I'm finally committing myself to listening to them all.

I did very much enjoy the storyline, but the highlight of the listening experience would have to be Saskia Maarleveld. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her performance, and she does a really good male voice for Griffin.

Onto the next in the series

I loved this book but was a little disappointed by the abrupt ending. So many questions were left unanswered for me like did Audrey ever get her own restaurant or did Griff ever sell his cidar or what happened with the new job offer? If these things were tied up I would have given it a 5 ⭐️ review.

Great book disappointing ending

The great narration made this an enjoyable listen - a bit of an abrupt ending but would recommend it anyway.

What's not to love about Bittersweet. It has the Shipley family, great adjacent characters and two strong main characters in Griff Shipley and Audrey Kidder. Their dynamic is enthralling and fun. The narration is excellent and I felt I was there, especially at the outdoor shower scene. I highley recommend this story and now I'm off to read the rest of the True North series.

5+ “Grumpy farmer Griff” Stars! I absolutely loved this book!!!! Griff was such a grumpy and broody farmer yet achingly ALPHA in every facet of his life ...from managing his family’s struggling farm to taking care of his family which included so many people... you just had to love him despite his broodiness! Sigh!!! And I loved Audrey - I wasn’t sure if this city girl could handle farm life but she was a natural and fit so perfectly into the Shipley household like she was born to do it. I loved not only the chemistry and sparks between Audrey and Griff, but I also loved this banter outside the bedroom! This was such an entertaining book that I didn’t want it to end!

Loved this book!!!
