Publisher's Summary

For more than 20 years, John Gray's Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus has helped couples deepen their intimacy and rejuvenate their love lives. Men and women, it revealed, communicate so differently, we might as well be from different planets. By learning to speak each other's language, millions of people dramatically improved, even saved their relationships.

But the world has changed.

Today, what it means to be a man or a woman is more nuanced and complex than ever. Both men and women are now freer to move beyond the restrictions of traditional gender roles to embrace their authentic selves.

But gender freedom shouldn't mean gender blindness. Men and women are still fundamentally different on a hormonal level. Our new needs in today's evolving and stressful fast-paced world - to remain healthy and happy hormonally and in the context of our relationships - are also fundamentally different.

As the roles of men and women evolve, relationships must evolve as well. To meet our new needs, we require a new kind of relationship.

In Beyond Mars and Venus, Gray takes the Mars-Venus framework to the next level, helping listeners to grow together in love. Through real-life examples and simple exercises, Beyond Mars and Venus shows you how to bring you and your partner closer than ever before.

Fed my nerd need!

I enjoyed Men Are From Mars & Women Are From Venus and was surprised when audible suggested this follow up book...I didn't know there were more!
SO glad audible suggested it as this book is now one of my favourites ever. The acknowledgement that whilst men and woman have broken out of their gender roles in the modern world that doesn't negate the biological differences we have and therefore the different ways we need to operate to de-stress, feel happy, safe and well.
I LOVE the explanation of our hormonal need and how different actions and words can help us control and balance them.
So insightful...I've even ordered the physical book so I can reference it more easily.

Insightful

So easy to think we know how to interact with one another and that in modern times, the gender differences have faded. It should be no surprise that given we are still biologically different, we have different needs, despite greater acceptance and fluidity amongst roles. This book explains those differences so well and gives useful ways to navigate and ultimately be successful in all interactions with others.

Women aren't crazy

I love how this book explains the hormonal influence on our behaviour. As a woman I know that I sometimes can act in a way that doesn't make sense to even myself (crying for absolutely nothing?) and I don't know why, now I do. It may not change my behaviour but it's easier to accept. It's also interesting to learn how different activities affect our hormone levels. I've always encouraged my partner to see other people since he's always in a much better mood and more loving when he comes back, I've seen this as a "missing each other effect". Now I know that it's much more than that and the importance of it. Brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Bad Book

This book is not relatable by today's knowledge and very one dimensional. I do not recommend this book
