Story
When you get up in the morning, the last thing you expect to see is a murdered guy hanging outside your window. Things like that tend to draw the attention of the local police, and when you're squatting in your parents' old house until you can afford to buy it, another thing you can't afford is the attention of the cops. Oh yeah. Hi. My name is Pet. It's not my real name, but it's the only one you're getting.

Story
To the vampires who dominate each quadrant of the Lydian Dynasty, I'm only known as "Blackbird" - a masked vigilante who, at 19, is already public enemy number one. To what's left of humanity, I've been called a superhero, a title I neither welcome nor deserve. My only objective is to offer the enslaved what was stolen from us.... Freedom. However, a failed plan lands me in the last place I imagined, at the mercy of all four Dynasty princes - Julian, Levi, Roman, and Silas.

My name is Vinna, and I've been keeping a lot of secrets. You would too if you'd experienced some of the weird shit I have: red-eyed monsters chasing me, markings on my body appearing out of nowhere, a strange power that crackles colorfully over my skin from time to time, and don't get me started on the weapons I can conjure up almost out of nowhere.

Story
Everyone knows who the magical estate will choose for its next ruler. Or do they? Will it be the lord’s eldest son, who he despised? His favourite nephew, with the strongest magical land-sense? His scandalous daughter, who ran away from home years ago to study illusion? Hetta knows it won’t be her, and she’s glad of it. Returning home for her father’s funeral, all Hetta has to do is survive the family drama and avoid entanglements with irritatingly attractive local men until the Choosing.

Story
I'm not your average girl. My best friend is my switchblade. My favorite hobby is using it on the cruel, the abusive, and anyone who gets on my bad side. I'm a convicted murderer with a chip on my shoulder and a dangerous lack of restraint. And then there's Zak. His rap sheet makes mine look tame. The bounty on his head is worth more money than I'll ever make, and the deadly fae that shadow his every step wield more power than I'll ever know. He's the Crystal Druid, and his first mistake was setting foot on my turf. His second was saving my life.

Story
Mercenary Casia Greythorne cares about two things: completing whatever her latest job is and earning enough coin to buy the expensive medicine that's keeping her mentor alive. So when the king himself offers her a job, she can't resist the massive reward he offers - even if it means working with Captain Elander, the arrogant, mysterious right-hand to that king. Her partner may be infuriating, but at least their mission seems simple and quick enough: investigate the origins of the strange plague that's been ravaging their empire, help find a cure, and then call it a day.

Emotional immaturity wrecks it for me
- By Mike Borg on 18-02-2023
Publisher's Summary
When someone tries to threaten me by telling me they know my name, I take that personally.
G'day. I'm not really a pet anymore, but you might as well keep calling me Pet. It's not like I'm gunna tell you my name anyway. And if I sound stroppy, well, I am. First, I was threatened. Now, someone has cut off my house from the human world and left my emotional support vampire on the human side. On the inside, it's just me and an emotionally compromised fae; outside, a closed arena in the world Behind, where everyone is out to kill us and a few of that everyone might actually be capable of it.
Yep. The Heirling Trials have begun, and it seems like it's either be king or be dead when it comes to the world Behind . . .

This Series is an incredible work of Art
I hope it makes into a TV Show one day. I cannot understand how the Author makes me understand Korean, I cannot understand a word of any Language even related to Korean and yet, I understand the Vampire and adore everything he says. I am not a teenager and love the series. I dislike immature themes, and although this series has a young adult as the main character, and several children around her, the theme is far from immature.
The writing, the stories, everything is so well crafted and written it is a great read. The writing is invisible, you forget you are reading, you forget the world you are in. The imagination of the creator is absolutely amazing. It is unbelievable what comes out of the walls, literally. And the hedges, floors, windows...
The interpretation of the Narrator is another artistic masterpiece! I adore the voices of Pet and the Vampire especially.
I hope someone quickly discovers the series and makes it into a well produced TV series. Can't wait to watch it.
