About this listen
All is fair in love and auto maintenance.
Beau Winston is the nicest, most accommodating guy in the world. Usually.
Handsome as the devil and twice as charismatic, Beau lives a charmed life as everyone's favorite Winston Brother. But since his twin decided to leave town, and his other brother hired a stunning human-porcupine hybrid as a replacement mechanic for their auto shop, Beau Winston's charmed life has gone to hell in a handbasket.
Shelly Sullivan is not nice and is never accommodating. Ever. She mumbles to herself, but won't respond when asked a question. She glares at everyone, especially babies. She won't shake hands with or touch another person, but has no problems cuddling with a dog. And her damn parrot speaks only in curse words. Beau wants her gone. He wants her out of his auto shop, out of Tennessee, and out of his life. The only problem is, learning why this porcupine wears her coat of spikes opens a Pandora's Box of complexity - exquisite, tempting, heartbreaking complexity - and Beau Winston soon discovers being nice and accommodating might mean losing what matters most.
Beard in Mind can be listened to as a stand-alone.

I have all the love for Beau Fitzgerald Winston
When I first started reading Penny Reid's books, I would describe them to others as quirky, funny, awesome reads. Now I would have to describe them as quirky, funny, awesome reads that can bring tears to the eyes.
The last 3 books have definitely given my the teary eyes as I've been reading them, and in Beard in Mind there was more than a few occasions where I felt so sad for Shelly. She's such a complex character and has so much to overcome. She's so very prickly towards others at the start of the book, and she has great difficulty with interacting and dealing with people.
Initially, Beau feels great frustration towards Shelly and the way she interacts with people, he considers her arrogant and thinks of her as a "human-porcupine hybrid". But once he starts to understand her more, and she opens up to him he is so wonderful with her.
As is usual with a book from this author, there are also many humorous parts throughout the story that had me smiling. I really enjoyed how this book was occurring at the same time as the storyline in Beard Science.
so much love for this series and the narrators

It would be nice if offered assistance for any mental issues without being labelled, sometimes causing an onslaught of opinions or lack of treatments relevant. I have seen with high regard to those involved treatment being held back due to the label placed on persons. Awesome book Well written!
Brilliant
