About this listen

Seventeen years ago, Quinn McKinley left her small town of Kingsford for a shot at a happier life. Now a successful real estate agent in New York City, she's brought back on behalf of a client, begrudgingly accepting her return home in order to close the deal of a lifetime.

Coming back opens doors she's done her best to keep closed all these years, namely, how she felt about her childhood best friend, Sawyer Kent.

Sawyer's spent her whole life in Kingsford, working at her family's antique store and trying to make everyone happy. Quinn's return is unexpected, knocking her routine existence more than a little off balance. She's still frustrated at how Quinn left things between them, and even if she has all kinds of unresolved feelings, she's got bigger problems to worry about right now.

Contains mature themes.

Sorry but I don't enjoy this narrator who's voice I find frequently harsh.
Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars

A very sweet long lost (almost) lovers. Small Town romance with just the right amount of angst and longing. I loved the natural progression of things. Both the MCs were likeable as well as the supporting characters. I highly enjoyed the story if only wishing to get more or them together. 👍😉

Sweet Sweet Sawyer

Great story, easy listening! The writing was awesome and gave great visuals. The story was the best mixture of cute and angst without going too far. Recommend the read :)

A perfect holiday read, with a good balance of drama, angst, romance and emotion. This is my third McCallan book now, and it is safe to say I am confident when I start one that I am going to absolutely enjoy it, to the point where I am now rationing her books so there is always a new one to reach for when I need to escape and build belief in the possibility of love. There aren’t many authors who write better couples than McCallan! Quinn and Sawyer are no exception. Opposites that come together perfectly with wonderful connection and chemistry. As a second chance romance, it did feel like we missed out a little on relationship development, and a bit more time could have been taken in the initial build up to their “reconnection”. But hey, I am a sucker for romantic tension! The individual character development was almost as enjoyable as the romance, and I really appreciated how empowering both MCs character arcs were. This was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Unsurprisingly Prince did a stellar job with the narration, really immersing me in the story.

Beautiful second chance romance

Quinn left their hometown at 19 and Sawyer stayed working in her grandparents’ antique shop. Sawyer’s brother is an egocentric reprobate with no redeeming features who their grandmother left the antique store to. She left her beautiful house to Sawyer. Quinn’s now a successful NY real estate agent and only returns to buy the house thinking the brother owned it. Ahh the plot thickens! Join a deliciously romantic journey of returning to your one true love.

Meant for each other

I found myself really rooting for the two MCs and particularly fell for Sawyer, just a little and the vulnerability that started to come out. Loved the narration - Lori Prince really brought out the secondary characters well too.

Lovely slow burn friends to lovers
