This is the second time I’ve read through this book the whole series is on high rotation all the time. The world Travis has built is sensational with characters that have real depth and emotion. The story of this book and his others have so many beautiful layers and David reads the heck out of it, conveying the fun and the brevity of the book. Would recommend this and Travis’ other books in a heart beat.

this had potential, but that was it. a potential. the psychology of the main character is immature and fragile, like a kid, considering he's an old man. the supporting characters arent likeable as well. even for the antagonists, theres no one smart or clever or great. they're all badly created.

the premise and the world building is very "uncooked" and needs work. i just cant deal with the nonsense so i had to stop.

its a good past time...but i wont waste a credit on it.

I have listened to all 3 in this series and will just write this one review. My problem with this off shoot of the original series, is it feels like it was written by someone else. It follows none of the original series mechanics. The character feels over the top and manufactured with a immature point of view on how the character should behave, not one of an older man. The difference of who wrote this and the original awaken online series feels like night and day, irritated I had to listen to it because it made parts of the latest book not make complete sense.

The whole premise of this book doesn't sit right with me. Upon entry into this game, you are either relieved of all your powers, or you are sent to a school/prison. Why would anyone play a game like this.
Overall, it was a struggle finishing this book. Okay to try if available in the PlusCat.
