About this listen
From neurodivergent comedian Darcy Michael, a hilarious memoir with a message about living with adult ADHD
What if ADHD isn't a disorder to overcome, but a superpower that makes you funnier, more creative, and more resilient? In Attention Seeker, comedian and card-carrying adult with ADHD Darcy Michael offers a fresh perspective on getting through the daily struggles that confront those on the neurofabulous end of the spectrum.
Darcy takes readers on a humorous-yet-heartfelt journey as he relates stories of growing up gay, getting married, and finding a career in comedy, all while navigating life with an attention-addled brain. From his early acting days on Spun Out to finding fame (and love) on the internet, Darcy shares all the dirty details (it’s NSFW, folks!) of how ADHD has shaped his identity, his relationships, and his work.
Peppered with asides from Darcy’s long-suffering husband Jer, advice for ADHDers both silly and serious, and words of wisdom from Yuma Dog herself, this laugh-out-loud guide is essential reading for anyone unpacking what ADHD means for them—or anyone who just wants to giggle.

I haven’t read or finished a book since 2018 and I am grateful to have such an inspiring book to begin my journey into training my brain to complete 2 tasks at once and having Darcy talking in my ear and regaling us with his wonderful life story about his relationships, work life, travel experiences and especially identifying with Darcy’s journey with his ADHD diagnosis & the most exciting part was the encouragement throughout the book which was really helpful 😊
Having followed Darcy & Jer since sometime in 2020 & sharing their story about love, family and everything else that they have so kindly shared with us and we all quickly became fans and it gave my sister & I something new to share with each other and we both still appreciate how open with their stories about their lives has bonded a lot of people which is something truly special 🩷
We of course were so devastated by the news of Darcy’s mums cancer diagnosis and then Jeremy’s diagnosis was something that we could empathise with as our beautiful mum was also going through her treatments for her Breast Cancer that had returned in March of 2024, and sadly we lost our mum to her fight against Breast Cancer on the 3rd of July 2025 💔
I’ve been wanting to share how Darcy & Jer were a big comfort and really helped me get through one of the hardest times in our lives and we are forever thankful to Darcy & Jer for helping us to smile, laugh and remember that we are not alone in this fight & a great boost of Dopamine to help us get through the worst days 💞
Thank You Darcy for writing such a beautiful & inspiring book about your life and sharing it with us so we can share in the ups & downs that we have been able to watch thanks to your social media presence and never giving up 🥰
Thank you for helping me finish a book that I laughed, felt sad but still full of hope & gratitude for the encouragement and support provided to get us through a book from the beginning and not want to stop until you finish reading it & feel good because you accomplish something that you haven’t been able to accomplish in 8 years 🤩
Beautiful story and heartwarming tales of your shared joy and sadness but always supporting each other through every obstacle life has thrown at you in the last 6 years and more 🌻
First Book I’ve Read in 8 Years Was Amazing 🤩
