Publisher's Summary

She needs his love. He needs her safe.

When a workplace romance becomes something deeper for Lexie Harper, she’s devastated to learn Asher Becket is determined to keep their sensual touches and passionate kisses behind closed doors. But that’s not good enough. Lexie won’t be anyone’s dirty little secret…especially when she’s harboring a secret of her own that won’t stay hidden for long.

As an ex-special forces soldier with a target on his back, Asher lives each day with just two goals: put an end to Project Arma, the program that changed him forever; and keep his feelings for Lexie locked down tight. His life is a hotbed of danger, and he’ll die before letting it touch her.

Then Lexie’s secret is discovered by people so evil, Asher’s her only hope of staying alive. Instead of pushing her away, he’ll have to hold his greatest obsession closer than ever.

Love it!

I like surprise baby tropes and this was excellent. Asher needed a good smack but he finally got with the program and the FMC was a strong ass woman prepared to take on the world! I loved it!

the further in the more I feel the angst

this book was a nice different. the first 2 were all about secrets, but this one the were no secrets just typical love push pull and a fierce need to shake and slap the H and h.
there were still a lot of close calls and suspense aplenty, but a few holes appeared in the plot.
Some obvious connections could have been revealed, and yet again, the baddies got away. for me, this was the most frustrating book so far. lots of things should have been exchanged. then things could have moved quicker. but while listening, in saying that, it was exciting to let it all unravel.
But the plotline moved the final goal that one step closer.
I'm not a lover of and baby makes 3, so I'm glad it hasnt been Nyssas go to trope.
The crooked ideals of the protagonists are scary evil. and I held my breath quite a bit.
Lexie is so kickass, strong, and sassy, I just love her. while Asher needed a reality check.
I think the way the new book is integrated at the back end of this novel just keeps the series rolling. there is an avenue for Nyssa to have written this grittier, but she has given me some fist pump moments, some oh no moments, and some fuzzy moments . .. except for the steamy bits
these 2 narrators are different yet again, to the ones in book 1 and book 2. However, they both held their own and gave life to these characters.
I'm just rolling along with the series with absolute delight.
