Publisher's Summary

A horse breeder by trade, Corbin Jonquil is more at home in the stables than in the ballroom of his sprawling estate. Corbin is the quietest of the Jonquil brothers and has always faded into the background, contentedly unnoticed. When a mysterious young widow, Mrs. Clara Bentford, moves into the neighborhood, however, Corbin quickly comes to realize that being noticed has its advantages. But how to catch the eye of the lady? According to his brothers, Corbin need only make a few simple changes to transform himself into the object of any woman's desire - dubious advice, indeed. Following a series of misadventures, Corbin and Clara slowly lower the facades behind which they've been hiding, leaving Corbin shocked by the horrors that haunt the woman he's coming to care for so ardently. When the menace of Clara's past threatens to tear them apart and tensions mount, will the couple have the courage to fight for the promise of forever?

Enjoying the story and narrating but.......

OMG the breathing!!!!! I am currently listening to chapter 1 but I can't get past the fact that I hear every single one of the inhalations that the narrator takes. Every few words I am pulled from the story because I can hear the breaths he takes. I want to lose myself in the story but I can't!!!! ugh. I will soldier on but I dont like this. This narrator needs a better microphone or a breathing treatment.

Good clean story

A nice easy listen. I appreciated the clean content and the clean language. I have had to return so many books lately because of foul language. Other than the odd pronunciation of Clara which the narrator pronounced "Claw-ra", he did an excellent job and aided in the enjoyment of the story without bringing attention to himself as the narrator.

MY TAKE
I read this book before, as a book. I was thrilled to find the audiobook available and listened to it. The narrator, Jason Tatom, did a fabulous job. I hope he does other audiobooks in this series.

I love the Jonquil brothers. They are such a fun and interesting family, each so unique and vulnerable in their own ways. I'm really hoping the publisher will get the rest of the books out on audiobook on Audible soon.

Corbin. Such a great guy. Love him to death. And how he handles Clara's little charges (daughter and nephew) is precious. I love it so much when a big, strong guy can be so tender and gentle. And tender and gentle is just what Clara needs as well after all the horror she's gone through.

Eden always does a fabulous job making her character fragile and broken in their own ways. She engages my heart and makes me ache for them.

An American reader

I really liked the story but I continued to think about why use a American to read a British regency novel, but getting past that it was a good clean novel

not a fan of the male reader.

not a fan of how the male reader portrayed women and children. also noticed SEVERAL skips where it seemed spliced together.

Secrets... Intrigue..

For one to be accepted simply as they are is a dream come true for everyone who seeks deepest and most sincere love of a true soul mate. Ms. Eden has captured this in an extraordinary saga with superb characters. Highly recommend this yet another utterly delightful book.
Mr. Tatom performed well and I shall enjoy this saga many times. Will most assuredly get other books in this series with the utmost pleasures of complete anticipation!

my favorite

I Love all of the jonquil Brothers but this story is the one that makes me smile and sigh the most. I have but one complaint and it is that sometimes the narrators breathing is really distracting from the story. My husband didn't even notice it but I do have to put some of the slow parts on double speed just to shorten the sound of intaking breath narrator constantly makes. If you like ASMR (which admittedly I don't) it will probably just be another layer of enjoyment for you. And if you are like me the story is totally worth the weird I'm being drowned between each sentence breathing.

I love the Jonquil Series

Jason Tarim is the perfect person for Corbin Jonquil. However I wish you could combine some of the others for the children and women. They way you write about children is so magical like in Drops if Gold. I loved the way you ended the story incorporating the children with Clara and Corbin.
Wish you would have done so in Drops of Gold.

A Very Touching Story

If out can get over the this being read by Darth Vader, it is worth a listen and a great addition to the series.
