About this listen

The planet is called Banshee. The air is unbreathable, the water poisonous. It is the home of the most implacable enemies that humanity, in all its interstellar expansion, has ever encountered.

Felix is a scout in A-team Two. Highly competent, he is the sole survivor of mission after mission. Yet he is a man consumed by fear and hatred. And he is protected not only by his custom-fitted body armor, the culmination of 10,000 years of the armorers' craft, but also by an odd being which seems to live with him, a cold killing machine he calls "the Engine."

Great thought provoking book. It's an exploration of the nature of heroism, violence and excellence. When you come face-to-face with true excellence, do you meet it with admiration, envy, jealousy, or resentment?
The narrator is excellent as well.

Underrated

I stumbled upon this book from the suggestions and just clicked on it out of curiousity, read the preview and decided to give it a go.
I enjoyed the different threads and how it all came together.

Great book with an excellent perfomance as well. Went in expecting some old school gritty / schlocky sci fi about space marines, but got a really engaging and thought provoking tale with some great themes that still doesnt skimp on the action.

well worth

This book was a worth the listen, the proformace of the narrator was engaging even through the more boring parts of the book.

The story gets stuck in the middle and I found some parts really confusing. if you get past all of this though you are left with a story that will make you smile at the end of it.

I hope you enjoy this book if you give it a listen. Have a good day and enjoy life

You wouldn’t know you weren’t there. Made for the post Vietnam War reflection period but equally still pertinent.

Gritty sci-fi over the bones of a thought provoking tale of individual actions in war and their moral consequences.
