Publisher's Summary

The author Sri "M" is an extraordinary individual. His uniqueness lies not only in the fact that at the young age of 19 and a half, he travelled to snow-clad Himalayas from Kerala, and there he met and lived for several years with a "real-time" yogi, Babaji, but also that he should undertake such an unusual and adventurous exploration, given his non-Hindu birth and antecedents.

The metamorphosis of Mumtaz Ali Khan into Sri "M", a yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, born of first-hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness is indeed a fascinating story.

The bonus for those interested in the secrets of yoga, meditation, and sankhyan metaphysics is that Sri "M" is still living and easily reachable. He leads a normal life, married with two children, wears no special robes and conducts himself without pomp or paraphernalia.

Someone who met him recently said, "I expected a flashy godman and instead I saw a jean clad gentleman with a smile on his face, ready to discuss my problems. In five minutes flat, I said to myself, this is no ordinary man. The peace and tranquility that enters your system is tangible."

As interesting as Autobiography of a Yogi!

While this is the story of a Yogi's journey and I compare it to Autobiography of a Yogi, it's a very unique story with its own merit. An enjoyable and insightful read!

I inhaled this book.

I could not quit listening to this book. It was truly amazing and I loved every second of it. I long to meet this author. For some of the seemingly strange portions of the book, I am thankful I was luckily prepped for, because my husband and I watch a lot of Gaia TV. So it wasn't too far-fetched for me. I hope he can come to the us one day. (My family is very concerned at thought of me going alone) In the meantime, I have got to read the rest of his written works.

An amazing book...

A true book that gives importance of meditation thru which one can achieve anything from this universe, from this life or past life and see all religions as one ... there are so many fantastic ‘karmic’ examples that opens ones’ eyes.. and path to self realization/introspection...

OMG! OM!!!!!

Just as inspiring and well presented as, Autobiography of a Yogi which is a classic in it’s own genre. Engaging spiritual experience so well-narrated! So thankful I discovered this quiet audiobook—inspiring & extraordinary! One of my best Audible decisions: entertaining and flowing like a spiritual river.....India as I never saw it while I lived six months in Goa and the West Bangal (Baharampur: home base) & Darjeeling. Love ❤️ this audiobook for it’s uplifting narration and without affectation! Lovely surprise—open your heart; open your soul at least for 10 hours!

Fantastic

When I first saw Sri M on Buddha At The Gas Pump, I could sense something in his eyes that gave me the feeling he had seen so much. I was drawn to his literature because of his humility. I have come across spiritual teachers who are power hungry and so I was seeking teachers who seem to have more transparency and discernment. I was drawn to Sri M not only because of his wisdom, but also because Ive had interesting mystical experiences and it is relatable to my journey. I admire how Sri M maintains integrity despite his experiences, and even allowed some time to pass before he shared them with others. If you are untrusting of 'mystical' experiences, Id advise you to simply keep an open mind and not think too much of it. This book expands my awareness to peer at the full scope of ones journey. Embracing the magic, maintaining discipline, and keeping faith are some things this book inspires within my spiritual practice.

Boring..failed to live upto expectations.

I dont understand why the author made a non malayali read this book out..the pronounciation of malayalam words is horrible...and funny. The author himself should have read it out.Besides the story doesnt take u amywhere...heard 3-4rth and left it..could hold it anymore expecting something interesting to happen.
