About this listen

A how-to guide to reclaiming your time, money, health and happiness in our toxic diet culture.

In Anti-Diet, Christy Harrison takes on diet culture and the multi-billion-pound industries that profit from it, exposing all the ways it robs people of their time, money, health and happiness. It will turn what you think you know about health and wellness upside down, as Harrison explores the history of diet culture, how it's infiltrated the health and wellness world, how to recognise it in all its sneaky forms, and how letting go of efforts to lose weight or eat 'perfectly' actually helps to improve people's health - no matter their size.

Drawing on scientific research, personal experience and stories from patients and colleagues, Anti-Diet provides a radical alternative to diet culture and helps listeners reclaim their bodies, minds and lives so they can focus on the things that truly matter.

I have felt shame and guilt about my body for as long as I can remember. This shame and feelings of guilt and worthlessness has led to a number of suicide attempts. The information presented in the Anti Diet is accessible, clear, and understandable. This information has drastically changed the way I think and feel about my body, and I’m excited to move forward in my life. I highly recommend this book.

There are a handful of books I credit with changing my life, and this is one of them. It's difficult to describe the complete rearrangement of thinking that this book produces; Christy Harrison presents us with the red pill, and after reading this, my view of the world is irrevocably transformed. Nothing has ever had such a profound impact on my relationship with my body. My healing from diet culture will be life-long work, but I'm so grateful that I get to do that healing now because of this book.

A Profoundly New Perspective

I have listened to Christy's podcast for some time now, and it has helped me be curious and understand a lot about my relationship to food, eating and my body. When I heard she was writing a book, i was hoping it would do similarly. Which it has. Her no-nonsense approach to breaking down diet culture, relationships with food, and how it impacts society is truly unlike any other, and hearing Christy in top-flight is empowering and inspiring. Loved this book. I will read it multiple times.

Everything I hoped for and more!
