Publisher's Summary

Anarchy Rising is the second book in the post-apocalypse Survivalist series by Dr. Arthur Bradley. (Series Order: Frontier Justice, Anarchy Rising, Judgment Day, Madness Rules, Battle Lines, and Finest Hour).

After the worst pandemic in mankind's history, anarchy threatens to break apart the United States. The government is years away from providing even the most basic necessities. Militias, gangs of convicts, and rogue soldiers face off in a violent free-for-all as they vie for power. Few safe havens remain. Big cities have been overrun with deformed survivors of the Superpox-99 pandemic. Smaller towns are being overtaken by authoritarians and lawless thugs. And congested interstates have become thoroughfares for desperate travelers and bandits seeking to capture women and supplies.

President Glass must face daunting challenges, completely unaware that some of her closest advisors are using unthinkable methods to have her removed. Their clandestine hunt for her eleven-year-old daughter, Samantha, intensifies, and the only person standing in their way is a ruthless convict who will stop at nothing keep the young girl safe.

Duty drives Deputy Marshal Mason Raines to leave the small town of Boone to discover the fate of his fellow lawmen. With his faithful wolfhound, Bowie, at his side, he crosses paths with desperate refugees, a bloodthirsty hangman, and savage cannibals. Only as he discovers the horrific truth, does he realize that he may be the last of his kind.

Wow!! What a great ride!

Pick's up where book 1 left off. Better then book 1 and book 1 was very good. The Dog is my favorite character. The story illustrates the nobility and loyalty of all K-9 everywhere!! Reminds me of Tufo's Henry!

The saga continues and evolves into great threads

Would you consider the audio edition of Anarchy Rising to be better than the print version?

The audio version is a joy to listen to while driving, exercising, and working on hobbies

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tough call, as I like Marshall Raines and his dad, Tanner Raines. As a veterinarian I also love the part played by Bowie!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Very near the end when Marshall Raines arrives at the marshall central facility and makes a promise

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to book three, Judgement Day, and book four, Madness Rules and five, Batlle Lines.

Fun story

I was nervous about going into this series because of some of the other reviews I read. Well, I'm glad I made the purchases, this has become one of my favorites.

OKay, OKay, it's good

I was too quick to judge this book when the president's character was portrayed as a weak intimidated woman. I continued on with the book and found it to be very entertaining, well written with some very charming dialogue.

I am Hooked !

Would you listen to Anarchy Rising again? Why?

Yes it was action packed and the relationships between the characters were well developed. That is important to me when I listen to a story.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the fact that it is not too many thinks on. Just 3 stories going on simultaneously. But they are all related. I hate it when theirs so many characters to keep up with.

Which character – as performed by John David Farrell – was your favorite?

Tanner

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The banter between Tanner and Samantha kept me laughing.

Any additional comments?

I am soooo glad I decided to give this series a chance. I have looked over it several times because I don't really like military based books. But The Survivalist is not what I thought

For the most part - Loved it!

Where does Anarchy Rising rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The 3 main characters are great. President Glass however is a disappointment and for the most part unbelievable. She lacks the intelligence you would expect from a president of the United States. That aside I will continue to look forward to seeing what happens to Tanner, Samantha and Mason.

Great book, excellent characters

I am so connected to the characters, I can’t even choose a favorite. Mason is definitely a guy I would love to know in real life. He has a great sense of duty, strong morals and is just an overall tough-guy fighting for justice. Tanner is supposed to be a bad guy, but he has a big heart and will do anything to protect those he loves. His banter with Samantha is fun and lighthearted in the middle of post-Apocalyptic conditions. Samantha is cute, always messes up sayings and fights with everything she has. The other characters are just as well described and causes us to make connections with them. The scary, horrible world they are living in is a new take on Apocalyptic fiction and is something that makes you contemplate how easily something like this could happen. I am really enjoying this series. I highly recommend it.

John David Farrell does an excellent job narrating the story. His voice brings the characters to life, and helps draw us into the story.

Love this story. Tired of changing Readers

I thought both readers of the 1st and 2nd book in this series did very well. I however wish that only one reader would do the entire series. They pronounce things differently and it gets annoying

Post Apocalyptic Western Marshal

First of all start with book 1 the survivalist. It just gets better as the story goes on. And the plot lines development grows.
Narration is top drawer, John Farrell readily shows his wide range in the characters male, female, old, and young. He breaths life into the story.
I have purchased five Kindle books of the eight and the 1st & 2nd in Audible.
