This story is so complex and I struggled at times to keep up with all of the storylines. But I am totally invested!! The dual narration of Carmen Rose and Kenn Peterson, which is excellent, helped a bit to keep track of which storyline we were following and who was speaking. I realise that this is epic fantasy, so there were always going to be big set-up scenes and sub-stories to be ready for the main journey.
On that, I love all of the main characters, especially Dec and Ayden and their emerging relationship and Keelan as well. I am not sure how all of these stories fit together, but that is the nature of fantasy. I am looking forward to finding out what happens next.
