I stopped at chapter 30 which still had 7 hrs yo go but I ant going to slog it to finish cause the main character girl started off interesting but once she got back to the tower I just lost interest in her and her goals. She's a simple character that probably needed to stay in a party to keep the story interesting or at least entertaining maybe even a love interest or a real bonding friendship. Otherwise too much on the stat's and talking about stat's halfway through a chapter too many times. I probably just prefer more human characters rather then a simple berserker. Funny in DND table top or as a side characters but not interesting when focused on them unless you got great friends and world building.

“However”… I’m hearing this so often I’m wondering if they had an AI correct this.
Story isn’t bad but some lines are so stilted it hurts to listen to it. It definitely has premises but not a huge fan of too many stats relayed. Parts don’t flow as well as it should that it makes me wonder if this could be a translated book. Picked up this to listen as part of the Plus catalogue. 3.5⭐️

I wasn't really getting into it for several chapters and almost put it aside. I was glad I kept going, as it got better and better, so much so that I bought book two which I am really enjoying.

Slow to start

This story does a lot of things right, the humor is funny, the characters enjoyable, the plot interesting and engaging. I found myself very quickly coming to like Amber the main character and her relentless personality. The only gripe I had with this story was what I call the "Were english writers so we must say fuck." In this book most of them felt pretty well placed but I remember one or two that was like "Oh I see, you want to remind people you can swear." (Something the 2nd book doesn't suffer from)

The voice actress does an excellent job but a few times here and there it does weirdly change the audio for a sentence like it was re-recorded in post using a different microphone.

Would entirely recommend to anyone looking for a story of a person being thrown into a fantasy world and rising above with pure grit and determination.

Took about 1/2hour to get into the groove of this book. But it didn’t disappoint really binged it over two days of driving and eagerly await book 2
