Publisher's Summary

Amanita muscaria mushrooms have a long history of being used as a hallucinogen throughout most of the northern hemisphere, and the impact of this usage can still be observed today. Everything from religion, culture, magic, witchcraft, fairy tales etc. have all likely been shaped in some way by these mushrooms. But many of these stories have been told countless times, so I will instead put my main focus on covering many aspects of these mushrooms that are so often missed.

This includes topics such as discussing some of their varieties and other similar species of Amanita (including the much stronger Amanita pantherina). I will also be discussing the legality of Muscimol (the primary drug in Amanita muscaria that is responsible for the hallucinogenic effects), as well as dosage expectations, new studies, new products being sold, patents, future cultivation possibilities for these mushrooms, protoplast fusion, radioactive fungi, and much more. I am also truly excited to be covering some of the history of Amanita muscaria being consumed for ritualistic purposes by American Indians. It's going to be a very wild ride….
