Davon ahnt der junge Dale Ferguson nichts, der sich im Familienurlaub mit seinem tyrannischen Vater Don auf einen Jagdausflug begibt. Der ideale Vorwand, um den ungeliebten, gewalttätigen Patriarchen durch einen "Unfall" loszuwerden. Als die beiden Zeugen eines kaltblütigen Mordes werden, ist es bereits zu spät für sie. Vater und Sohn finden sich in einer Situation wieder, aus der sie nur gemeinsam entkommen können. Doch die Chancen sind äußerst gering.
