Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic.

Daniel Schinhofen is one of the most talented and skilled author.
And I got to say I'm hooked on the This book and a can't wait to buy the next book in this series.

And with the voice acting talents and skills of Andrea Parsneau who makes the characters and world come alive with the narration of this book.

Also I bloody love the Bloopers at the end of this book lol.

This book caught me off guard. It's a fantastic read, a bit slow HOWEVER that's because it's setting the future up nicely. Could bot stop listening to it. Eagerly awaiting the next

The book its self starts out a bit slow for my taste but once it starts running i just couldn't stop listening the characters are well designed the villain is a little shallow but I expect with more time he will become a more exciting antagonist I can't wait to read the second book

First up Andrea is an outstanding voice actor, absolutely nails the characters, and the bloopers at the end are gold.
The story itself is great, and doesn't get stuck grinding for progress allowing for development of multiple characters while still keeping good pace.

My only issues are.
The MC’s aether/darkness is read like an evil villain. I’m not sure why, but if I was the MC I would be very concerned about the voice in my head.
The MC’s main love interest is sooooo annoying. Can you please just kill her off already.
Apart from that it is well worth the money and I loved it.

Good start but this reminds me of Binding words alot. So it'll be something I'll listen too but will probably skip alot of chapters to get the story moving again during the romance scenes cause Greg is a romance block head and will likely be sub important during the romance stuff but dominate during actual story time. It's a personal dislike for me but story is good.
