About this listen

This just in: romance takes center stage as West End theater's Richard Troy steps out with none other than castmate Elaine Graham

Richard Troy used to be the hottest actor in London, but the only thing firing up lately is his temper. We all love to love a bad boy, but Richard's antics have made him Enemy Number One, breaking the hearts of fans across the city.

Have the tides turned? Has English rose Lainie Graham made him into a new man?

Sources say the mismatched pair has been spotted at multiple events, arm in arm and hip to hip. From fits of jealousy to longing looks and heated whispers, onlookers are stunned by this blooming romance.

Could the rumors be right? Could this unlikely romance be the real thing? Or are these gifted stage actors playing us all?

I wanted to love the narration but I just couldn't get past her depiction of the protagonist. I almost stopped listening at times because of it. I get he's meant to be posh but you can sound cocky and pompous without sounding like an 80 year old lord of the manor. The book and story is otherwise fantastic. I just feel like I would have enjoyed it so much more if I'd read it myself.

Great book, terrible narration

One of my favourite romances - great fun with excellent witty writing and laugh-out-loud banter !

Love this book

I’ve read the book a few times and love it. The audiobook was okay - the narrator mispronounced some words and had some fairly bizarre accents for some of the characters, but it was still good.

This is one of those audiobooks that I come back to again and again. Witty banter, great characters, really good narration.

The excellent writing of the main female character made this an absolute win for me. There was no ridiculous swooning and she was able to trade barbs with the male protagonist without coming across as hysterical or unreasonable. I love this author's writing style, her wit had me giggling throughout. I'm not at all sold on the narrator, her own voice was sickly sweet and she really overdid the stuffy pompousness of the ML.

Excellent Female Lead

A pleasant if predictable story, saved by the witty banter. The narrator has a lovely style, but I wish she wouldn’t try for such awful male voices.

An easy listen

Loved the story but I struggled badly with the narration. Unfortunately the narrator made the male lead sound like a stodgy old man. I had to stop listening and go read the e book instead.

Great story, the narration is not great.
