Publisher's Summary

England, 1817. Miss Adeline Hays is out of options. Determined to escape marriage to a repugnant earl, Adeline plans to deliberately allow herself to be caught in a compromising position at a house party with the much kinder man she’d hoped to marry. Instead, Adeline accidentally enters the wrong chamber and tumbles into the bed of the mad duke.

Edmond Rochester, the duke of Wolverton, is seeking a wife to care for his two daughters. He’s looking for a young lady of sensibilities and accomplishment, someone who, most importantly, he’s not attracted to - the complete opposite of the bewitching beauty who traps him into marriage. But despite the lust he feels for his new duchess, Edmond is resolved to never allow them intimacy, refusing to ever again suffer the tormenting loss of a loved one.

Loved this book

If you wonder what happens after marriage, this book is for you. It moves along at a great pace. Thank goodness the narrator was really good. Very enjoyable and will be reading the next two.

this is a great love story

the narrator is wonderful. Storyline is very good as well. I specifically like the interaction between The Duchess and the Duke and the leading up to their lovemaking.

Lovely story and intro to the series

Edmond is a man caught up in grief and afraid to love again. Adeline compromises him and he does the honourable thing and begins feeling things he swore not to feel after his 1st wife died. I love the story Stacy tells of how he lets his defences down.

All goes relatively well until huge misunderstanding sees Edmond running from his Duchess to London in fear.

Will love conquer all? Or will these 2 lovers be divided forever?

The narrator was one of the better ones I've heard read Stacys books.

I love this series by Stacy Reid and highly recommend it
