This book. This world! Sabaa Tahir has created something amazing and each book just keeps sucking me in more and more! Gosh, I just know the last book is going to do things to me. But I'm gonna go dive in head first anyway!!

I am so invested in these characters, this brutal world and this series in general. Sabaa is a goddess of creation.

I don’t have any dislikes of this book, besides how much it HURT.

Pretty good storyline but some of the characters (i.e. the Blood Shrike) are so dumb!

This book has so much heart and soul.
It is such a well written YA book, with depth of characters, intrigue and scope. Usually by the 3rd book I am struggling to keep interest in a story but Sabaa has managed to keep me captivated and the next one I am sure will be mind blowing.

Love the narrators but wow this was a tough read, one step forward 3 steps back. It was so draining one good thing happens a million bad things go wrong, I’m surprised anyone was alive honestly. So many people fighting and dying, I had to stop listening multiple times because it was so damn depressing.
