The first book wasn't bad and I was curious to see how the story progressed. It didn't. Leaving out the protagonists being chased by baddies, fighting baddies, singlehandedly taking an airship from baddies (you get the drift), perhaps 5% of the book took the main premise of the first novel any further. There was no character development and we learnt very little, if anything, about the 'why', which was what was intriguing about the story in the first place. The narrative felt stretched out, leaving me feeling somewhat cheated, as if author padded the book in order to capitalise on the opportunity to sell a third or fouth novel in the series. I feel that my time was wasted, and having paid for this book, so was my money. Audible, you can't give me my time back, but hopefully you can return my credit.
