Yunus B Bilici was born in eastern Turkey in a Kurdish region. As a child he enjoyed telling his brothers and sisters stories. At age 16, his first full-length novel appeared in his mind. But the writing itself was difficult. Due to his dyslexia, reading and writing had always been challenging for him. In addition, he feared being like his mother because she was not literate. Reading and writing were his enemies when he was young, however, war is not only fighting with enemies but also with things or dreams you have. He had locked the words inside, but they started to rebel; the words wanted to be free. His first story was the beginning of the words feeling liberty. Then, when he moved to the US and took a writing class, he was on his way to editing and publishing his work. "Black and White: A Poetry Collection. Letters from Eve" is Yunus' debut publication and his first novel is also in the works. Yunus currently resides in Santa Barbara, California.
