Will Dowd is the author of Areas of Fog, an essay collection named a "Must Read" by the Massachusetts Book Awards, and The Taste of Rain in Buenos Aires, a collection of twenty short stories inspired by a Harvard-supported dream experiment using an MIT Media Lab dream-incubation device.

He is a regular editorial cartoonist for The Boston Globe and a poetry editor for Post Road Magazine. His writing and art have appeared in The Washington Post, NPR, Writer’s Digest, LitHub, Poets & Writers, and elsewhere. Recently, he received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Rumi Prize in Poetry from Arts & Letters magazine.

He earned a Master of Science from MIT and an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University. He lives and works in the Boston area.
