With a peripatetic upbringing, attending twenty-one schools before graduating high school in Miami, Florida, I made few close friends. Because of a tumultuous home life, one of my favorite pastimes was walking in the evenings and looking at the lighted windows of homes, imagining a family enjoying dinner or maybe watching television together. In my fantasies, they were always a happy family. I traveled and lived abroad for many years, enjoying the vastly different cultures of other countries, even becoming fluent in Russian and Farsi. My creative writing spans a wide range of storytelling, dealing with danger, deceit, love, and survival in various genres. The time periods range from the Civil War to the future. All the stories are about strong women surviving against incredible odds. I am a Regional Director for the Florida Writers Association, member of the Ormond Writers League, Carrollton (GA) Creative Writers, Sisters in Crime, and facilitator for Daytona Fiction Writers and Daytona Area Writers. When not editing for other publishers, I am most likely to be found at my desk, creating something new. Like most writers I know, the stories never stop coming. I created Paranormalice Press, LLC to publish paranormal mysteries, including horror and urban fantasy. Since that time, author Chris Holmes's books have won two gold medals in the Florida Royal Palm Literary Awards.
