Avid lover of fantasy, science fiction, and all things joyous and geeky, Verna McKinnon crafts fantasy where heroines take the lead. Her newest release, Bastard Sorceress, follows Sabine Fable, a bastard and society outcast surviving in a world where magic is currency. In The Bardess of Rhulon, we follow Rose Greenleaf, a Dwarven Bard who flees an arranged marriage to find danger in a strange new land. The Familiar's Tale series (Gate of Souls, book 1 & Tree of Bones, Book 2) focuses on the bond of Runa the sorceress and her familiar, Mellypip, as they battle dark powers to save their world from Obsydia the Bloodstone Queen and Koll the Sorcerer. The author of several published short stories and many planned novels, she writes obsessively and drinks lots of coffee. More fantasy tales brimming with heroines and magic are coming soon.
