Vera Reh began her career as an author right after her studies in environmental and economic sciences at the University of Oldenburg in Germany. Protecting nature does not only play a big role in her stories. She loves animals, and she’s taken a special shine to cats, dogs, ravens and the many forest dwellers. With great attention to detail, she created her first work of fiction, the magical novel series Fire Raven, saying: “To me, magic means giving inexplicable phenomena a new point of view.“ When writing, pots full of tea, hot chocolate and pancakes with cinnamon and applesauce serve as good inspiration. Just like the little squirrel that visits her windowsill to pick up nuts.
