Valeria was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1988. She has a BA in Performing Arts at the Université de Poitiers (France) and Università di Roma La Sapienza (Italy) obtained in 2009 and an MA in Screen-Writing and Production for Film and Television from the University of Westminster obtained in 2011. From 2013 to 2014, Valeria worked in international development in Burkina Faso providing technical assistance and capacity building to Djigui Espoir, a national organisation providing livelihoods to disabled women. From 2015 to 2016, she worked in humanitarian aid, reporting on the impact of more than 30 operations benefitting more than 350,000 refugees and IDPs in Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Cameroon, Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2017, Valeria undertook the Graduate Diploma in Law from Nottingham Trent University and from 2017 to 2018, she undertook the LLM Bar Professional Training Course at City, University of London. She was Called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018. I Belong is her first book.
