Ulrike Busch has been feeling the yearning for the sea and the distant horizon for as long as she can remember. Fascinated by the seemingly boundless, green landscape of Northern Germany, she moved from her hometown of Essen to Hamburg in 1986. Since then, she has been firmly rooted in the North Frisian Islands and Halligen. She loves people with her straightforwardness, down-to-earthness and her straightforward dialect and walks in wind and weather when the northwest wind blows the smell of salt and seaweed around her nose. For many years, the Ph.D. linguist worked as a freelance copywriter and technical writer.
