Tony Volpentest has been breaking world records and winning Paralympic gold medals since 1992. His numerous awards include the International Olympic Committee Presidents Disabled Athletes Award, the United States Olympic Committee Athlete of the Year Award, and Sports Star of the Year. He served as the National Spokesman for Shriner’s Hospitals and has been featured on numerous radio and TV shows, including CNN and Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and was a Sports Illustrated Athlete of the Year. Tony had the great honor of being nominated to be inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame, Class of 2012. Tony is married and the father of four children. Through his foundation, Helping Others Live Determined, he works with others who are aspiring to be champions in all aspects of life. He is currently training again, and given his determination and “never give up” attitude, don’t be surprised if you see him on the track again soon.
