Tony Kent is a thriller writer, a criminal barrister and a former champion boxer who has been acclaimed as 'the British David Baldacci'. He writes the bestselling Joe Dempsey / Michael Devlin series of political action thrillers which began in 2018 with 'Killer Intent' and continued with 'Marked For Death', 'Power Play', 'No Way To Die' and ‘'The Shadow Network'. His series protagonist Joe Dempsey was dubbed 'The British Jack Reacher' by The Sunday Times. In 2024 Tony co-wrote ‘Revenge of Odessa’, alongside late thriller-writing legend Frederick Forsyth. A contemporary-set sequel to the classic ‘The Odessa File’, Revenge of Odessa was released in the UK in October 2025, in the USA in Nov 2025 and has been translated and published worldwide. The third and final book in this series is due to be released in the autumn of 2026. In his day job Tony defends the most serious criminal allegations, dealing with the UK government, Scotland Yard, the NCA, MI5, Interpol and the FBI, as well as some of Europe’s most notorious organised crime groups. In 2023 Tony co-founded the CHILTERN KILLS crime-writing festival in the town of Gerrards Cross, held in aid of youth homelessness charity CentrepointUK. Chiltern Kills will return on Oct 3rd 2026. Tony lives just outside London with his wife Victoria, their son Joseph and their Jack-Russell terrier Maximus.
