Tiffany G. Townsend, PhD is a scholar, practitioner, and advocate whose work sits at the intersection of equity, community well-being, and institutional change. With over two decades of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion, including senior Chief Diversity Officer roles at major institutions, she brings both rigorous scholarship and hard-won practical wisdom to everything she writes.

Her latest book, Weathering the Storm: Navigating the Anti-Social Justice Wave (Broadleaf Books, 2026), is a guide for DEI practitioners, equity advocates, and institutional leaders navigating opposition to equity work. Drawing on her own experience and decades of research, Dr. Townsend offers frameworks for understanding resistance, sustaining resilience, and finding collective joy even in difficult seasons.

Her commitment to community well-being extends beyond the workplace. As a contributing author of Sisters of Nia, a cultural enrichment curriculum designed for African American girls, Dr. Townsend has long understood that equity work begins early, in the lives of young people who deserve to see themselves reflected, valued, and supported.

Dr. Townsend is the President and Owner of CORE Perspectives LLC and is based in the Augusta, Georgia area.
