I am Thomas W. Savage. I have lived nearly all my years in the rugged mountains of southwestern Montana. In my rural home near the towering mountains that form the Continental Divide, my love for the wildness of nature was born. By my father's strong example and under his watchful eye, I took my first tentative steps as a young boy on the amazing path that I walk still, today. Through the kindness of Native American friends that I came to know along the way, the eyes of my heart were opened to the great oneness shared by all living things in not only the mountains, but throughout our world. The ways and sacred ceremonies so lovingly shared by my native friends, gave me an ever- deepening understanding of the wonderful journey that was mine, and essentially, gave me the words to put to paper what would become my books; Walk with the Wind, Sacred Dog, and Look into the Still Waters. It is my sincere hope that through my writing, you will enter and come to know, the natural world that surrounds us all. Tommy.
