After 38 years of legal practice, Tom Countryman retired in 2020 as a commercial and medical defense litigator to devote more time to his passions for Christian speaking, writing, education, and pet therapy. For more than four decades, he has taught and “argued” Scripture and theology in Bible studies, Sunday classes, seminars, and small groups. Tom is the creator and original presenter of the DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING lecture series and the author of several plays, including LOVE SONG: The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene and JAKE! A Texas-Style Musical Based on Genesis 27–33, as well as ONE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS, a year-long journey through the Bible. He is currently working on DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING II: The Character of a Disciple. Tom and his wife, Jean, live in San Antonio, Texas, with their Labrador Retriever, Maisie, a therapy dog, and a flock of chickens. He enjoys travel, theater, hiking, biking and theological research.
