Tex Malone is a pen name, mostly because the real guy has a job he’s trying to keep. If you’ve read any of his books, you know why. He’s still figuring it out. He has survived heartbreak, hangovers, injuries, surgeries, and about a million lost games to write his books. The fact that he’s still standing is a minor miracle. He’s played a lot of ball, skied a lot of chutes, made a lot of bad decisions, and occasionally stumbled into a good one. Like not giving up on love. He’s never claimed to be the smartest guy in the room, but he knows how to tell a good story, especially the kind where no one gets out clean. He’s been out-served, out-drank, and out-smarted more times than he can count, and he’s learned to laugh about it. These days, you can find him limping on the sand, nursing a questionable ankle and bum knee, sipping cheap scotch, trading jokes with his friends, and quietly wondering how he got away with half the shit in his books. His heart is full.
