After graduating in Latin and Ancient Greek at the University of Amsterdam I moved to Rome in 2008. There, I have worked as a secretary in an international law firm, as a tutor in Latin at the Roman study center of the University of California and as multiple tour guide in Saint Peter's Basilica. I have also worked as an author for the Rome section of two Dutch travel guides: 'time to momo' and 'Stedenman'. At the moment, I work as a teacher for the Dutch School of Rome. In 2023 my first historical novel got published by an established Flemish publishing house. 'The song of Marina' tells the story of the 40 children who, in 1944, were born in the bed of the pope. It's a love story about passion, the power of music, fear, war and hope. 'Het lied van Marina' is based on events that happened for real, exactly 80 years ago in 2024. I'm looking for a publishing house to bring this incredible story to the English audience, please contact me if you're an editor!
