Tecia McLaughlin, an Alabama author, business owner, and public speaker, developed a passion for writing poetry and music as a young girl. At seventeen, she joined the U.S. Army and spent her first year learning German at the Defensive Language Institute in San Francisco, California. She later served as a Counter-Intelligence Agent in Wurzburg, Germany, for three years. During her time with the Third Infantry Military Intelligence Division, she had the privilege of working as a journalist for the Army’s “Frontline” newspaper. In 1989, she was crowned Miss Capitol City and went on to compete for Miss Alabama. In 1992, she was chosen to represent Troy University as an American Exchange Student studying International Marketing at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. In 1993, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. In 1998, she launched her first business, “Traveling Tunes,” which quickly gained recognition and earned her a spot on the children’s stage at Mobile, Alabama’s largest music festival, Bayfest, within a year. Today, she owns a full-service beach wedding company along the Gulf Coast. Her first suspense thriller, “Beseeched,” was published in 2023, followed by her crime thriller, “Our Secret Circle,” in 2024. She met her soulmate in Panama City Beach in 1985, and they were married in 1990.
