Pensacola, Florida-specifically the Warrington area-is where my story begins. Art was my earliest refuge. My literary foundation was built on listening to books like Goosebumps, Harry Potter, and numerous Stephen King novels, alongside reading Milestone, Marvel, and DC comics. My favorite superhero, Static Shock, resonated deeply as the first hero I could relate to as a minority growing up in the projects. I believe in embracing every challenge, letting it shape you, and never giving up the fight. Though I started writing as a side-passion to support my drawing and photography (and even won a few awards for my work), reading quickly became my ultimate escape. The more I read, the further I could journey from everyday struggles. I gravitate toward vivid, descriptive books, drawn to the suspense, fantasy, and thriller genres that ignite my imagination. The stories I write are deeply attributed to the enjoyment and journeys of my life.
My path to authorship was unconventional. After struggling to find my footing at Pensacola State College-initially swapping from Drafting and Design to Multimedia-I knew I needed a change. Raised in a low-income family with no college graduates to lean on, stagnation was not an option. At 22, I joined the Navy. My service became a global odyssey, taking me to Virginia, GTMO Cuba, Italy, Japan, Bahrain, Germany, and all over South America. While serving, I re-enrolled in school and later graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Digital Marketing and Advertisement. I want my kids to see me as proof: they can stay in the battle, out-perform, and succeed higher than they can imagine.
The discipline and travel of the Navy only fueled my love for writing. I found quiet corners on the boat or during deployments to blend my life experiences with fantasy. This led to two distinct series: "Live a Lie": A fantasy world where conspiracies come to life and cultures are woven together. The first book, *In The Mist"* (released September 2, 2025), throws the main character, Stanley Rivera-Steel, onto a path where the finish line is a perpetual path, not an end. "Sparrow": A collection of short novels that explore the continuation of life, inspired by a near-death experience that profoundly changed my perspective on the afterlife. My service brought me in contact with people from all over the world, but it also exposed me to a painful truth: life is hard. Having lost shipmates to suicide-a tragedy that also affected my family-I felt compelled to dedicate my work to their memory. A portion of the funds from the "Sparrow" series will be donated to mental health organizations supporting those struggling with suicide and their families. My ultimate goal is to create scholarships for the children of my fallen comrades.
Thank you all for taking the time to view my bio and I hope you enjoy my journey of being a author.
