Suzanne Rayfield Chilton McKenzie graduated Illinois State University in Mathematics, and earned a Master of Information Management degree from Washington University School of Engineering. She lived in Illinois, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, and Florida. After a long career in information systems, she turned family memoirs, letters, genealogy, and official records into a novel as a fundraiser for the local Museums, BLUE & GRAY CROSS CURRENT written with her late-husband Dan Chilton. Voice actor, Kevin Crow, prepared the audio book on Audible. She now lives in Florida with husband Roderick (Rick) W. McKenzie, a published poet, whose poetry appears in her latest novel, CELIA’S BLUE SPRING, a prequel. It follows the life of her 3rd great-grandmother, Celia Johnson Fancher, 1795-1860, the illegitimate daughter of notorious V.P. Richard Mentor Johnson.
