Steven Thomas writes fiction about broken people and the places that make room for them. His characters find their way through regret, horrible choices, long nights, and the heart-breaking work of starting over, often with help from unlikely friends who become family.

He follows Jesus and remains drawn to the love Jesus practiced: grace that tells the truth, room at the table for outcasts, and openness that meets people where they actually are. His stories live in bars after closing, church basements, tattoo parlors, all-night diners, and other ordinary places where people can be known before they are fixed. Like real life, his stories are PG-13: people drink, cuss, make bad choices, but still have a seat at the table.

“Welcome to Pearl’s” is his debut novel. Steven, or "ST" as he is known. lives in the suburban sprawl of North Dallas with his wife and their two dogs.
