My mission is to remind us of who we are as Americans, of the founding principles of this great nation, and of the faith and virtues required in a people who mean to retain them. To achieve this mission, I spent two years compiling the words of the Founding Fathers into narrative form around ten themes. Like us, the Founding Fathers lived in a world where freedom of speech was threatened, where tyrants in love with power sought to rob them of their liberties, where their property and the fruits of their labor were under siege, and where law was twisted to serve the few rather than the many. Readers will be shocked at just how relevant their words are to our world today. I know I was. As I began developing The Founders' Speech Series, my background in writing and training on complex issues came in handy. As I scoured through thousands of texts and hundreds of sources, I was often brought to tears by the power and truth in their words. I hope readers will feel that same impact, and that we will be inspired to live out our founding ethos and principles.
