Steven Frye teaches writing and American literature at California State University, Bakersfield. He has published short stories, essays, articles, and reviews in such journals as The Centennial Review, The South Carolina Review, The Kentucky Review, and the New Orphic Review. He has authored a novel entitled Dogwood Crossing as well as three books of non-fiction. He has also edited five volumes of collected essays with Cambridge University Press and Salem Press. He works from his home in the High Desert of Southern California where he lives with his wife Kristin and his brown Labrador Retriever, Sam.
